Idol Career
Nerun (ねるん) is a Japanese idol and singer and a member of You’ll Melt More! (ゆるめるモ!).
Her first public appearance within the group’s ecosystem came on September 25, 2019, when she was revealed as a member of the trainee unit Pupil More! (ぴゅーぴるモ!).
On February 7, 2020, it was announced that she and fellow trainee Nani would join the main lineup of You’ll Melt More!.
Since joining the group, Nerun has become one of the longer-tenured members of the current lineup.
Role in the Group
Although she does not describe herself as a formal leader, Nerun often plays an important role in discussions and decision-making within the group.
In interviews she explains that speaking up in the group was not originally natural for her. However, after several senior members graduated, she began to feel that if nobody spoke up, the group might lose direction. As a result she gradually became someone who helps raise issues and share ideas during discussions.
She often describes this role as providing both a performer’s perspective and a broader view of how the group operates.
Personality
Nerun has spoken about the difference between several versions of herself: the idol she presents on stage, the version of herself she shows in everyday life, and her private self.
Outside of idol activities, she works as a dental hygienist, and she has described that environment as very structured compared with the freedom she experiences in creative activities.
She has also explained that adapting to everyday social expectations can sometimes feel restrictive to her, while idol activities allow her to express ideas more freely.
Relationship with Nani
Within the current lineup, Nerun often describes her relationship with Nani as particularly close.
Rather than describing it as a typical friendship, she refers to their relationship as a pair or “war buddy.” She explains that Nani’s energetic personality and strong presence balance well with her own quieter nature.
The two members joined the group at the same time and have continued performing together throughout many lineup changes.
Musical Interests
Nerun has said that what first drew her to You’ll Melt More! was not the costumes or the visual aspects of idol culture, but the lyrics and atmosphere of the music.
She remembers hearing the song Nigero!! early on and feeling drawn to its raw and slightly rough sound.
For her, the emotional tone of the music and the meaning of the lyrics are often the most important parts of a song.
Solo Project: Nerun Poku Poku
Outside of the group, Nerun runs a self-produced solo project called Nerun Poku Poku.
The project began on September 14, 2021, when several music videos were released simultaneously.
She has described the project as a space where she can explore ideas and visuals that do not always fit within the group’s activities. Because she handles many creative roles herself—such as directing, editing, or design—it also allows her to experiment more freely.
At the same time, she has said that working alone can feel intimidating because the responsibility rests entirely on her.
Creative Work
Even within group activities, Nerun has taken on creative roles.
In 2020, she directed, filmed, edited, and choreographed a dance video project known as “Yuru-bics.”
Her solo activities later expanded to include music videos, exhibitions, and other creative projects connected to the visual world she has built around the “pink room” concept.
