Idol Career
Makoto (まこと) is a Japanese idol and singer and a member of You’ll Melt More! (ゆるめるモ！).
She joined the group on May 19, 2024, when she and Raki were introduced as new members during a free event.
In interviews she has explained that she had almost no previous connection to idol culture before joining the group. Her entry into the idol world happened after she began looking for a different direction in life, feeling uncertain about school and traditional career paths.
She has described auditioning for You’ll Melt More! partly because it was a group she already recognized, which made the idea of applying feel less intimidating than joining an unknown new project.
Early Interests
Before becoming an idol, Makoto described her main hobbies as listening to music and physical activity.
Her music taste began with visual kei, and she often searched for unusual or obscure songs online. She enjoyed finding tracks with very few listeners, sometimes with only a small number of plays.
Rather than focusing on specific genres, she describes liking songs based on how they feel. She is especially drawn to music that contains unusual sounds, such as water-like effects or tones that create a sense of being underwater.
Among artists she has mentioned as influences are X JAPAN and MIYAVI. She explained that her mother first introduced her to X JAPAN, which later led her to discover Yoshiki and related projects such as THE LAST ROCKSTARS.
Sports and Activities
Makoto has also spoken about enjoying sports when she was younger.
She initially became interested in baseball because she liked target-throwing games, though she later discovered that real baseball was quite different. Later she played softball and took positions such as pitcher and shortstop.
Among physical activities she especially enjoys sprinting, explaining that she simply likes the feeling of moving quickly.
Life Inside the Group
Makoto has described her first year in the group as intense. Because of the number of live performances and travel schedules, she felt that the time passed very quickly.
Despite the pressure, she says that the experiences have been rewarding, mentioning trips to places such as Taiwan and Fukuoka as opportunities she might not have had otherwise.
Her closest connection inside the group during this early period was with fellow new member Raki, since they joined at the same time. She has described how the two gradually became more comfortable with each other while practicing and performing together.
Music and Performances
Makoto identifies the album 虚無泥棒 (Kyomu Dorobo) as the first full release she participated in after joining the group.
When asked about her favorite track from the album, she selected めんどくせんじゃ (Mendokusenja), explaining that she likes its rap-like rhythm and rhyme patterns.
Personal Goals
Makoto has spoken about wanting the group to reach a wider audience and appear in places where people who are not yet fans can discover them, such as television or large festival stages.
On a personal level, she has expressed interest in creating music herself. However, she has said that she does not necessarily want to sing, and instead would like to make instrumental music without lyrics that focuses on sounds she personally enjoys.
