Idol Career
Meari (めあり) is a Japanese idol and singer and a member of the group You’ll Melt More! (ゆるめるモ！).
She joined the group in April 2021, after previously being part of the trainee unit Pupil More! (ぴゅーぴるモ！).
In interviews she has described her early period in the group as challenging. After joining, she felt a strong pressure to behave “properly” because idol activities were work, which made her become overly cautious and quiet. She has said that during this time she sometimes struggled to express herself naturally.
Over time she gradually learned to relax and return closer to her natural personality while performing.
Early Interest in Performance
Meari has said that she enjoyed singing and dancing from a young age. Before becoming an idol she followed idol culture and K-pop, and she has mentioned TWICE as one of the artists she liked early on. She also keeps track of newer groups such as XG.
Her first encounter with You’ll Melt More! happened in 2019, when she attended a live show after hearing about the group through family. She described being surprised by how powerful the performance felt compared with the idol concerts she had previously known.
After later seeing recruitment information for trainees, she decided to apply.
Music and Favorite Songs
Music is a central part of how Meari describes her connection to the group.
She has said that she was drawn to You’ll Melt More! partly because of how widely the group’s songs vary in style. The contrast between different types of songs made a strong impression on her.

She also explained that her relationship with lyrics changed over time. Earlier in her life she felt that many heavy or emotional lyrics did not fully resonate with her experiences. In recent years, however, she has said that certain lines now “hit” her more strongly as she experiences more emotions through life and performing.
Personality
Meari often describes herself as someone who naturally enjoys performing and connecting with audiences.
At the same time she has reflected on how, early in her career, she tried too hard to separate “work mode” from her normal personality. Over time she has tried to find a balance where she can perform while still feeling like herself.
Her public image often emphasizes a bright and friendly stage presence.
Collaborations and Side Projects
Meari is involved in several activities outside the main group, which she describes as extensions of her work with You’ll Melt More! rather than something separate from it.
Wink Music Service
She has participated as a guest vocalist in projects connected to Wink Music Service, a musical project involving Sally Kubota and Keitaro Takanami.
She has said that recording with them felt different from You’ll Melt More!, because the vocal style required a different approach. At the same time she enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to reach new listeners.
Babywiper or Gangster
Meari is also a member of the collaboration unit Babywiper or Gangster, together with Shinonome Kozue of BELLRING Shoujo Heart.
The project combines members from the two groups and focuses on energetic performances and collaborative releases.
Hekushon Mekushon
Within You’ll Melt More!, Meari also performs in the duo へくしょんめくしょん together with fellow member Heso.
In this unit they sometimes perform older You’ll Melt More! songs as a duo and experiment with comedic ideas and creative stage concepts.
