PiKi (ピキ) is a Japanese idol duo affiliated with Asobisystem. The duo consists of Karen Matsumoto from Fruits Zipper and Haruka Sakuraba from Cutie Street, both of whom are part of the Kawaii Lab. idol project. They are best known for their 2025 song “Kawaii Kaiwai,” which was used as the ending theme for the second season of the anime adaptation of My Dress-Up Darling. PiKi’s music and culture fuses “kawaii” and “retro”
PiKi was officially introduced on June 21, 2025, at the Okinawa Collection 2025 event held at Okinawa Arena, where they performed “Kawaii Kaiwai” for the first time. The name “PiKi” is derived from the members themselves, with the letters “P” and “K” referencing their fandom nicknames “Parutan” (Haruka Sakuraba) and “Karen-tan“ (Karen Matsumoto), and also corresponds to the Hawaiian word for “peach.”
“Kawaii Kaiwai” achieved significant commercial success, going viral on streaming platforms and reaching the top ten on the Oricon Singles Chart and Oricon Combined Singles Chart, as well as the top 20 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100. The duo continued activities with additional releases such as “Tell Me Tell Me,” used as a theme for a television segment, and “88888888,” a collaboration with the 2025 film Exit 8, which they also performed on Music Station.
