Odoro

棘-おどろ- (Odoro) is a Japanese female idol group formed in 2017 and based primarily in Tokyo under the doles U label. Combining electronic music with alternative rock influences, the group describes itself as a “visually innovative alternative idol unit” (視覚的新感覚オルタナアイドル) and performs under the concept of “pricking the heart” (“ちくりと胸にささります”). Known for their dark aesthetic, emotionally intense performances, and constantly evolving lineup, Odoro has maintained a unique presence within Japan’s underground alternative idol scene since its debut.

The group officially debuted on September 30, 2017, with original members Tanaka Shirome (田中しろめ), Rinpumora (りんぷもら), and Mirokuji Eru (弥勒寺える). According to founding member Tanaka Shirome, the meaning behind the name “Odoro” does not come from the word “odoroodoroshii” (“eerie” or “grotesque”), but instead from the phrase “issho ni odorou” (“let’s dance together”). From the beginning, the group aimed to become a completely unique existence within the alternative idol world.

Throughout their history, Odoro has undergone frequent lineup changes while continuing to perform through self-produced live events and appearances across Tokyo’s underground music scene. Following the graduations of original members Mirokuji Eru and Rinpumora in January 2018, the group cycled through numerous members including Usagii, Nikaido Kanata, Ekubo Nya, Hiiragi, Moru, and Sabami during its early years. The group temporarily suspended activities on August 27, 2019, before returning on January 19, 2020 with a renewed formation.

The 2020 relaunch introduced members such as Kurome, Meri, Sato Makoto, and Tsukikanade Misa, while later additions included Koyomi Amu, Meguri Kanmi, and Shirozakura Saki. Among them, Meguri Kanmi joined in April 2021 and remains one of the group’s current members alongside leader Tanaka Shirome. During this era, Odoro further developed its emotionally driven alternative sound and visual identity.

In March 2022, Odoro released their first EP, KimiKimi (キミキミ). The following year, on January 25, 2023, the group released their first single, KimiKimi / TeniTeni (キミキミ / てにてに), featuring the lineup of Tanaka Shirome, Tsukikanade Misa, Meguri Kanmi, and Shirozakura Saki. The release included a re-recorded version of “KimiKimi” and marked the group’s first major audio release after Shirozakura Saki officially joined in 2022.

By the end of 2023, additional lineup changes reshaped the group following the graduation of Shirozakura Saki and the eventual graduation of Tsukikanade Misa in 2024. On January 1, 2024, Tsukishiro Yunon, Nekota Ren, and Kimura Omaru. joined as trainee members before officially debuting as full members in March 2024, expanding Odoro into a five-member lineup.

On September 30, 2024, Odoro celebrated their 7th anniversary with their first-ever one-man live featuring a full live band setup. The concert also commemorated the release of their mini album xxxx (“Damé Damé”), which was officially released on October 2, 2024. The release highlighted the group’s continued evolution, combining alternative idol aesthetics with heavier electronic and rock-oriented sounds.

In July 2025, new members Tensai Uyu-sama. and Ninigi Okome were announced through the group’s official social media accounts, with both officially debuting during a performance at Shibuya GUILTY on August 17, 2025. Shortly afterward, Odoro held their 8th anniversary live at Shibuya Ongakudou on September 30, 2025.

In March 2026, the group announced the withdrawal of Tensai Uyu-sama. as well as the upcoming graduations of Nekota Ren and Kimura Omaru., both of whom departed following the group’s regular performance on May 14, 2026. As of 2026, Odoro continues activities with members Tanaka Shirome, Meguri Kanmi, and Ninigi Okome.
