I's (アイズ) was a Japanese four-member punk rock band formed in 2021 by Ano. The group operated under the independent label Nyang Nyang Records (猫猫レコーズ) and officially debuted in August 2021 with the release of their first EP, DON't COMMIT SUICIDE.
The band was formed on August 14, 2021, when Ano independently gathered members Takuya Nakayama, Kitchen Maeda, and Ryota Unebasami. Prior to the formation of I's, Ano had previously performed alongside Nakayama and Unebasami during her time as a member of Yurumerumo!. The band held their first one-man live concert, BOKU NO NATSU WA DO-NANDA, at Shimokitazawa Shelter on August 31, 2021, the same day they released their debut EP.
In March 2022, I's released their first single, “あなろぐめもりー。” (“Analog Memory”). This was followed by the video release Bakutan in June 2022. On July 8 of the same year, the band announced their second EP, Fumou Sensou (不毛戦争), which was released on August 17, 2022. The EP included four tracks, among them “はっぴーえんどろーる” (“Happy End Roll”), a song built around lyrics Ano had been developing for several years that expressed the sense of restlessness associated with adolescent moratorium periods. The title track “不毛戦争” (“Fumou Sensou”) was originally composed during a livestream in which Ano broadcast the songwriting process on TwitCasting before the band had officially formed.
To commemorate the release of Fumou Sensou, the group held the “I's ‘Re:Re:S・O・S’ TOUR” between August and September 2022.
In August 2023, the band released their third EP, Eien Shoudou (永遠衝動). On August 1, 2024, I's announced that they would disband at the end of the year. Although no official reason was initially given, Ano later explained on Instagram that the breakup was not related to her busy solo schedule or activities as a solo artist, but rather stemmed from disagreements between the four members. She also stated that, from her perspective, the decision had not been sudden.
Before disbanding, I's released their final single, “Past die Future,” on November 18, 2024, through Toy's Factory, marking the band’s major label debut. The song was written as the theme for episode four of the live-action drama adaptation of Oshi no Ko, in which Ano also appeared.
